Ayodhya and Varanasi are facing a serious security threat

Ayodhya and Varanasi are facing a serious security threat from beggars belonging to minority communities within temple premises. The beggars communicate differently, and one such person is Markandey Pandey from Ayodhya. These cities, known for their religious significance, witness an increasing number of beggars, even on the banks of the Sarayu and Ganga rivers. In Ayodhya, with the rise in pilgrims due to the construction of the Ram temple, beggars have become more organized, taking advantage of the crowds. As pilgrims increase, so does the number of beggars. Many beggars, especially women from minority communities, are seen from the Ram path to the Janmabhoomi corridor.Local police seem passive about the situation, acknowledging that begging is not a good practice but claiming an inability to intervene. The issue is not only a matter of security but also raises questions about the circumstances leading to the surge in beggars. In Varanasi, the situation is equally troubling. The Vishwanath corridor has increased the number of pilgrims, leading to a proportional increase in beggars. Women, especially Muslim beggars, are more prevalent. Notably, these beggars are often not local residents and communicate in a mixture of Bengali and Hindi. Some have been caught stealing. Both Ayodhya and Varanasi are sensitive areas with a history of terrorist incidents targeting vulnerable populations, making the issue of beggars a matter of concern for security forces. However, the local police and administration appear unaware and inactive regarding this critical situation.
